It was a journey back to my hometown without to worry about rising petrol price and toll to pay. This off-the-beaten-road trip is going to give you more than what you want for a holiday. This is definitely the best way to get to know the Truly Malaysia! Travelers to Malaysia, read this…

First, fly with your bike. From the airport, head straight to Sepang, the small town which is located roughly 10km from the airport. From there, it is a pleasant ride from Sepang to Malacca which is roughly about 120km. You can make it a two days trip and stay a night at Port Dickson. You can put up a tent by the beautiful seaside. Malacca is the historical city which I’m sure you will like it a lot!

White sandy Port Dickson beach. You wish you have more days here with a nice book.

This is not Phuket for sure. The public beach is full of people, a scene only available during public holidays.

Along the trunk road, you will pass by many small town with forgotten old buildings.

Traditional malay house which you won’t find it in the city.

Rubber tree’s seed. There are more to see on the road!

From Malacca, make your ways to Muar and then Batu Pahat. Visit the Tanjung Emas and try this famous Ice Kacang and Rojak, nice!

Chendol has starch noodles with green food coloring (usually sourced from the pandan leaf), and palm sugar, which you can’t find in Ice Kacang :)
Have you tried?

I have tried chendol in Melaka. I think ice kacang is your version of our “halo-halo”.

‘halo-halo’, i really love the name! :D
It’s very very friendly as it sounded like a welcoming dessert. Once the traveller touched down at the air port in Manila, the first thing they should be doing is going for a ‘Halo-Halo’.
Brilliant!

Hahaha! It literally means “mixed-mixed” which is what it actually is. A mixture of different fruits, beans, purple yam, caramel flan, sugar, milk and shaved ice, sometimes topped with a scoop or 2 of ice cream. Really yummy!

That’s because it is Ais Batu Campur = ABC.
Wow, i guess a few ‘Halo-Halo’ wouldn’t hurt every now and then right? LoL~
We’ll just have to run a few more rounds and jump a few more times. That should do the trick.

Yeah right Marcus. That’s why it’s popular during summer. Eat and sweat!

I remembered I went to Tanjung Emas with TeckHang (without him, I might have got even lower GPA). I went there with him to meet up with a web design customer in Muar when I was Year 2 studying in KUiTTHO (I dragged him together and skipped a few class for this).
At first, I couldn’t find the Ice Kacang stall. I thought it was no longer there until I spotted it at the new location, like a new hawker centre, I smiled to myself :)

Sorry I haven’t been around - hey that looked like a really great trip! I actually have a trip booked to go to Malaysia again next July. Going to Kota Kinabalu and then Kuala Terrenganu (spelling?) and I am looking forward to it!

Kuala Terengganu is Weikiat’s hometown. It would be a great trip, are you alone or with friends?
