<p>This is the castle of the Dukes of Bretagne. 11th-15th century.</p>

<p>At the top of the column, a statue of the king Louis XVI, who was condamned to death at the french revolution (1789). The buildings around the place where built in the 19th century.</p>

<p>The river Erdre ( affluent of the Loire). François the 1rst ( King of France at the beginning of the 16th century)used to say that this river is the most beautiful in France.</p>

<p>The thick walls where a defense against the ennemy. The bottom of the walls was usually under water, the only way to enter the castle was the front door, with the drawbridge.</p>
